When you come and stay at The Crown & Punchbowl you’ll be spending the night in a beautiful, historic, Grade II listed 17th-century coaching inn.
We have nine comfortable, ensuite, double rooms each named after notable alumni of Cambridge University: Franklin, Turing, Hawking, Goodall, Woolf, Marlowe, Forster, Coleridge and Erasmus.

We’re more than a pub too. We pride ourselves on our food. If you’re looking for a foodie break in Cambridge, you’ll love it here.
Our restaurant menu is focussed on fresh, seasonal food, locally sourced wherever possible. We have a delightful garden for al fresco dining or — when the weather is cooler — cosy real fires indoors.
All our room bookings include a cooked breakfast, with a range of options. You can enjoy the day exploring Cambridge, pop back for a light lunch (or a Sunday roast!) then, later, enjoy a sumptuous dinner before tottering upstairs to bed.

Conveniently Close to the City
We’re in a lovely countryside setting in the pretty village of Horningsea. But the beautiful, historic city of Cambridge is just minutes away.
There’s free parking for guests on-site and the Milton Park & Ride is just a nine minute drive away — with busses into the city every 15 minutes, even on Sundays — taking the hassle out of your trip for sightseeing, university visits, museums or retail therapy.
Racing, Relaxing or Romance
Horse racing fan? The Crown & Punchbowl is the ideal base for visits to Newmarket Racecourse too — less than 25 minutes drive down the A14.
Prefer your sport a little more participatory? There are several excellent golf courses nearby including Girton Golf Club, Gog Magog and Cambridge Country Club. Or for the anglers, fishing lakes at Waterbeach or Milton Country Park.
If you prefer your days out to be a little more sedate, one of the National Trust’s jewels, Anglesey Abbey, is just minutes away.
